STATE OF OHIO v. W.G.: Jury finds client NOT GUILTY of Felonious Assault

Our Columbus law firm represented a man who got the best of another man in a fight outside of a local bar in Hillsboro, Ohio. The case was tried in the Highland County Court of Common Pleas, and our client was found NOT GUILTY of the primary charge of Felonious Assault, a second degree felony carrying a potential sentence of up to 8 years in prison. Prior to trial, the prosecution offered a plea to the indictment with an “agreed” 4-year prison sentence. We turned down the offer and proceeded to trial. Our client was acquitted of the felony charge but convicted of a lesser misdemeanor offense. As a result of the acquittal, our client avoided prison and a felony conviction.

Columbus attorney Todd A. Long represented the client at trial. Our client was overjoyed with the result and has since referred others to our office.
